Why Listen To Me?

Why Listen To Me?

Creating this blog is a good challenge for me. I love to write, be funny, sassy and I love the outdoors! I have always been into sports, but not always just getting outside. I think I give a fun perspective on getting outside. I am not an intense athlete, but rather a gal the enjoys life. I will share funny stories to shed some light on the lighter side of exercise. For example, I have not lived down bringing a hogaie sandwich on a hike. There I was on the side of a trail and after several miles we stopped for a rest. My friends pulled out their trail mix and fruit and there I was with a giant grocery store sandwich. I am sure they were just jealous, but it was an extremely large sandwich for a day hike!

I want to make sure I show my personality through my writing and inspire you to get outside and enjoy it as much as I do! I am no expert, but I know what makes me happy so I go for it. I find these activities invigorating, healthy, calming and exciting. My favorite time is when the world is quiet and I can feel my heart pumping and I just stop and enjoy everything around me. I know how lucky I am that I am able to get outside and enjoy life. I hope you feel my love for the outdoors and I inspire youto give something new a try!

My dog is a terrible hiking partner! He likes to run to other dogs to play o I have to keep him leashed if there is anyone else around! However I like having him around if I am hiking alone!

My favorite activities would have to be hiking and skiing (both cross country and downhill). I am always up for a ski or a hike! I may have confused you since I have a picture of me white water rafting and there is no mention of it as a top activity I like. I added this picture as a nod to getting out of my comfort zone. Several years earlier, I had done a similar trip and hated it. My son had never sucked his thumb before and was traumatized and sucked his thumb after a big rapid thrashing. A few cousins were flipped out of the boat, an elderly relative got a bloody scrape on the leg, and the water was very rough. Needless to say, it sucked and I vowed I would never do it again.

Fast forward a few years and there I found myself with another opportunity to change my mind about white water rafting. I did it! I grapped my fear by the horns or perhaps the oar and held on! I am so glad I did as it was a much better experience the second time! I probably won’t do a ton of rafting, but I know I can overcome my fear by trying something more than once.
